By the collaboration of all stakeholders of the commercial fishing industry of the maritime regions of Quebec, it is possible to coordinate efforts and strategies to promote a strong safety culture in this industry.

The annual gatherings allow exchange between stakeholders on the issues that are of particular concern to them. The collaboration platform given by the CPSBPQ is only one of the strategies implemented to promote collaboration.

The CPSBPQ is also involved in numerous round tables and management committee and discussion forums relating to the fishing industry.
​
The CPSBPQ acts as a leader in the commercial fishing industry and oversees a wide range of projects and creates bonds between partners coming from certain areas of humanities, social and natural sciences. Its most recent project, “Making Prevention a Priority” is an excellent example of the initiatives of the Committee.
